Good news again and some updates
Scott called me yesterday and told me that he got the approval for his sabbatical application! woohoo, that means Kai doesn't need to go to family care (at least, he doesn't for full-time) in the latter half of this year. We were saying that Kai is really daddy's lucky star.
On a side note, we have changed our rule of the weight loss program. Instead of paying each other, we decided to put the 500 dollars there as a bank. If either of us lose one pound, we get 10 dollars from the bank. If gaining one pound, we pay 10 dollars to the bank. This way, we can avoid the scenario where I lost some weight, but I don't get any reward because Scott lost some weight at the same time. Also it makes much more clear how much weight we have lost or gained. Here is the current scores: Bella's saving: 40 dollars. Scott's saving: 20 dollars.
Kai was 100 days old last saturday. We went to sears and got some photos taken for the big boy.

Big, big good news!
On the day that Kai turns 3 months, Scott received the letter that he is going to be promoted to Associate Professor. Big congratulations to Scott! Great job getting tenure! It looks like we are totally settled in Southern California. Now I can start looking for another bigger house, haha.
How to celebrate it, that's the question, as we just came back from SD. Maybe go to a Todai buffet and totally ruin the weight-loss plan?

Trip to Sea World
周六快9点半pump完， 在bbs上灌了最后一瓢水，磨蹭磨蹭，10点终于出发了。吴农一定要去买个咖啡上路，耽误了一会儿。上了高速我又突然想起来，pump的那个AC adapter是不是带了，觉得好像带了，但是怕脑子不好使忘带，于是赶快让吴农下高速，打开后车厢看看pump的包，AC adapter硬硬的还在，呵呵，于是二上高速，大约10点半了。
教训：泵奶的妈妈出门前一定要make sure pump的每个零件都在。
俩娃都很乖，又都继承我上车睡觉的习惯，二上高速的时候都已经开始呼呼了。一路比较顺利，稍有小堵，但还是很快，快1点的时候到了Sea World。车一停，娃先后醒了。带了书和dvd都没用上。只用到一个Liya常听的歌的dvd放了一会儿，Liya就睡着了。
经验：生个爱上车睡觉的娃是正道。
上车睡觉，下车撒尿。进了Sea World，就见厕所。Liya的daycare上周一开始给她potty train，穿了一周underwear，有过一两次accident，表现还不错。所以出来的时候带了potty ring和她的一个带座位的小potty（小potty这次SD之行没用上，一直呆在trunk里了）。但是坐车前还是给她带上diaper了。下车她要peepee，于是就拿着potty ring去厕所撒尿。这周末后来又在potty ring尿过一次，其他时候就尿在diaper里了。
经验：potty ring太有用了。
开玩，吴农带Liya去Elmo’s flying fish 和Sea star两个rides玩，Liya很兴奋，吴农更兴奋，这个土人，以前居然没来过sea world。他俩玩，我就给Kai 喂奶。之后去看blue horizon的show。因为天太热，太阳太毒，只看到波光粼粼，有点儿看不清，所以不是很enjoy这个show。
教训：一定得带多种多样的衣服，多穿几个layers，带防晒霜（我们家这个倒还好，脸晒得黑红，呵呵）。
看show之前先买了pretzel吃，show玩去吃pizza，贵且不好吃。
教训：应该记得带煮鸡蛋就好了。
之后我就需要泵奶了，看到nursing room，去瞧了瞧看是不是有outlet，还不错，有。于是在nursing room里泵奶。全家都躲到里面，正好里面有AC，很凉快，呵呵。然后去看Shamu show，天不那么热了，所以看得还不错。看完就5点半了，离开Sea world去旅馆。有点儿堵车，到了Hilton，发现parking不是免费的，overnight居然17刀，真黑。想到在priceline上拍的便宜，也就作罢。
经验教训：订hotel之前要考虑到这个parking的问题。
吃晚饭：去我上次去过的一直惦记垂涎着的prepkitchen。k！前台说居然要等25-35分钟。后悔啊，来之前该reserve了！但是还想等，于是坐下来等，Liya不老实拿起人家放蜡烛的jar，给摔碎在地上了。不知道这孩子跟这个餐馆有仇还是怎么的，上次来她撒了人家一地水，害得人打扫，这次更厉害，下次估计要放火了。老两口觉得很没面子，几欲先走。吴农带Liya出去玩，我在那里喂着老二等，觉得非常out of place，其他客人没有带孩子的，都是那种dating的，或者couple date night的，有少量老年人，我们是唯一带娃的。后来跟吴农商量，看看我们能不能order takeout。好主意，时间也晚了，于是决定order了直接带回旅馆吃。再次推荐这个餐馆！后来还在hotel里看到这个餐馆的一个广告，说被什么什么评为best new restaurant。
教训：带孩子出去吃饭最好提前reserve，到了饭店别让娃乱动店里的东西，呵呵。order takeout是个不错的选择。
回到hotel，用hotel的大毛巾铺在床上，跟Liya说要picnic，她可高兴了，开吃，她很爱吃这家做的spaghetti，还非常sweet地喂妈妈吃。哦，对了，你们娃也把spaghetti发成psghetti吗？真好玩。吃的后半过程中，我和吴农take turns把Kai哄睡了。Liya吃完不大会儿，也就要睡了，我陪着她等她睡着就去pump了。一夜还算无话，两个queen床，我和吴农一人带一个娃占一个床。Kai半夜醒了两次，我学棒棒的方法，喝完一顿就准备好下顿的。所以Kai一醒，马上用奶堵住他的嘴，没有吵醒Liya。赞一下hotel，有个海尔的小冰箱，里面还有小freezer，把ice pack放里面冻上第二天用。
第二天就轻车熟路了，去附近的denny’s吃了早饭，之后回hotel 泵奶，check out，又奔sea world了。还见到了米粒一家，匆匆忙忙也没给Liya和米粒照相。从12点玩到6点sea world关门，加上昨天的4个多小时，呵呵，觉得这个年票已经差不多赚回来了。回家路上俩娃又是一路睡着回到家，一到家俩人都开始哭，顿时乱作一团，人仰马翻，哈哈，welcome home了。
回家称体重，我减3lbs，scott增1lbs，所以Bella：270 dollars， Scott：230 dollars，哈哈。

Seaworld--this weekend!
I just bid a room in Hilton, San Diego for 60 dollars, hehe, love priceline!
I also bought 2 annual passes(one regular, one silver pass with parking) for seaworld, we are going to take both kids there this weekend. So excited. First trip with two kids. It's going to be hectic, but fun! Isn't it romantic for the pre-valentine weekend?

After rounding up, Bella gained one pound. Scott lost one pound. So Bella has 230 dollars, Scott 270 dollars. 亏了，基数大就是好啊。

Scott and I made a pact
Each of us will get 250 dollars and weigh ourselves tomorrow night as the baseline. From now on, we will weigh ourselves every Sunday night. If I lose 1 pound, he gives me 10 dollars; If he does, I give him 10 dollars. We will do the money exchange every Sunday night.
At the end of the year, we each will use our money left to buy ourselves a Xmas present. I am not going to put the baseline numbers here to scare you, but will update my blog on our money each week. :)
btw, an update on the breastfeeding front, I have more than enough milk since about two weeks ago. Now I have 6 bags of frozen milk! In theory, if I produce more milk, my weight loss should be faster, but why hasn't it happened yet? Maybe the following pictures can explain it?
At the end of the year, we each will use our money left to buy ourselves a Xmas present. I am not going to put the baseline numbers here to scare you, but will update my blog on our money each week. :)

Beijing Yogurt making
看着大家对这个酸奶兴趣很大，我就再仔细说说。用的是这个yogurt maker，趁kohls有30%off时候买的，大约20块。

很简单，把42oz奶煮冒泡，放凉（说明书上说到90度，我没管它具体度数，凉了就行），和酸奶引子mix好，就倒在yogurt maker配的杯子里，打开机器，10个小时后就好了。我没加糖，所以出来有点酸，吃的时候放了蜂蜜就跟北京瓷瓶酸奶很象很象了。
这个酸奶引子，可以买专门的引子，starter。也可以用买来的plain或者vanilla 酸奶。看到很多人推荐greek yogurt，所以我用的是voskos牌的honey vanilla bean greek yogurt。

New Year Resolution
看到老崔又能来看俺的博客，很高兴，赶快update一下今年的New Year Resolution。
1.要好好经营和妈妈的关系。 过去这一年仗着怀孕和坐月子对俺娘态度很不好，要检讨。
2.减肥是大事，前半年努力喂奶，可能减不了多少，后半年争取减到135。 好好护肤不犯懒，最近两年老得快，皮肤不光滑了。
3. 带好俩娃，希望今年不送Kai去family care。2011年将是辛苦的一年，熬过去就好了。
